Information for University and Admission Teams
Stoke Park School is an inner-city 11-19 secondary school in Coventry whose percentage of pupil premium and free school meal students is higher than the national average. The school closed to its main student population in line with the government's Coronavirus mandate in January 2021 due to the second national lockdown. From that period, Post 16 students were taught their normal timetable via Microsoft Teams and were given tasks to complete which consolidated their learning throughout this time; students also received feedback from their teachers remotely and during these virtual sessions assessments did take place. Contact was also made through assemblies to ensure that students stayed focused and informed. Attendance to the online lessons during lockdown was 98%.
From March 2021 the Year 12s returned for their normal timetables in person to continue with their learning. Mock exams were written in the summer term to assess students’ progress and attainment to date and to plan Year 13 curricula appropriately for their return in September after the holidays.
