On Wednesday 11th November 2009 the majority of year 7 visited the Alan Higgs Centre to celebrate the 2012 Olympics which will be held in London. We took part in three different activities.

Firstly, we played basketball and my group won a few games,
Justin in 7E scored all of our teams goals! At the end of the basketball
session we were all given tickets to see the Crusaders play.
Then we played a few games of handball. This was my favourite, I’d never played it before but found it really exciting. Overall we all played very well considering it was a new game for most of us.
Finally, we played volleyball. We started with a few warm up exercises. One of the exercises involved throwing a ball under arm , under the net . After that we started a rally, my group did really well.

At the end of the games we gathered back together and watched the fourth group, a dance group, perform their opening ceremony dance. The dance was really good and we all enjoyed watching what they had been doing whilst we played our matches.
After the dance the Alan Higgs staff gave us goody bags and we headed back to school in our luxury coach!
Thank you to the staff at Alan Higgs who made our afternoon so much fun!
