Welcome to Stoke Park School

Mr Pike

Dear parents and carers

The summer term has started well and the weather brought some much needed warmth to break and lunchtimes.

There are two particular items to share with you. Firstly we held our own whole school review of teaching and learning in March and judged 88% of lessons as good or better. This is a great achievement and one from which to launch further improvements. Secondly we are participating in the Coventry wide young people’s survey and a letter should be with you explaining this by the end of the week. I want to reassure you it is totally anonymous; children enter only their gender, age and postcode for the analysis. If you have concerns having read the letter please do contact school.

Many students are now in the final stages of courses and immersed in revision for the examinations that start in earnest on Monday 13th May although there are practical examinations before then. We wish them well. There are many extra lessons and revision sessions being run by staff right up unto the exams for years 11,12 and 13 – please emphasise to your son or daughter the benefit of attending extra taught sessions as well as carrying out their own private study.

Our timetable will roll over on 10th June with students starting their next academic year – the biggest beneficiaries are Y9 who will roll into Y10 and start Key Stage 4 options. A reminder that from half term that THURSDAY MORNINGS will be the SAME as all others; so on June 6th it will be registration for all at 8.40 having arrived on site by 8.30.

Thank you for your continued support for the school.

Yours sincerely
Matthew Pike
